Trip Synopsis

Another year, another epic winter Mammoth Trip. This year we went to Mammoth in earlyFeb. The condo we usually stay at was booked for the weekend, so we found a niceplace at the Mammoth Sierra Properties, right across the street from Vons.

Bryan, Andy, Anne, Nick, Amanda & I left early on Friday morning for a half day ofskiing/snowboarding on Friday before everyone else arrived. The sky was a beautifulblue, and Thursday night, a few inches of snow had fallen.

That night, Kevin, Melissa, Ashley, Steve & Elysia all arrived. We sat around drinkingMammoth Double Nut Brown Beer (mmmm...Mammoth Brewing Company) and enjoying the niceweather we were experiencing. It was good to see everybody!

The next day arrived, and we took off for the mountain. It was Steve's first timesnowboarding in almost 10 years! He did excellent! The snow conditions were perfectand the sun was out! I spent the first day on a snowboard, but I spent the last twoon my skis.

Sunday was our last day. We checked out of the Condo and spent a half day on themountain. We were all tired and ready to go about half way through the day. On theway home, there was a "Jam-lad" (according to the Cal Trans sign) for 15 miles or sobecause the 15 freeway was shut down due to a fire.
